Why I love these 10 art YouTube Channels
Get inspired by YouTube artists to create!
Why YouTube? I love YouTube soooo much. There, I said it. Addiction is probably the right word. I like to watch YouTube instead of TV. My favorite content creators are art vloggers or anything creative. I watch YouTube when I want to learn something or I feel like watching/listening to something during a longer painting session.
So instead of you searching for a bunch of random art stuff, I'll share my top 10 art and creative youtube channels of all time (according to me).
1. Minnie Small
Minnie Small is a freelance illustrator from south-east London. She has a calm and lovely presence and makes wonderful art vlogs, sketchbook paintings and other art related stuff. I have been a subscriber to her channel for quite a few years and watched her channel and business grow. She is an amazing artist and I always feel inspired watching her videos. She also adopted a cat a while ago and who does not love that? She is very honest and shares her doubts and feelings in her art journey.
2. Leigh Ellexon
Leigh is an artist based in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has the most adorable dog (Toadie) and parrotlet (Hercules). She makes art vlogs, sketchbook tours, speed paints and share general good times. I just always feel good while watching her videos. Also her art is amazing, colorful and adorable.
3. Creationsceecee
If I have low energy and feel kind of down I watch some of creationsceeceee´s videos. She is based in Montreal, Canada and makes beautiful abstract art. I think she has been making videos for about a decade. She is a mixed media artist using intuition and imagination when creating her pieces. You can’t go wrong checking out her channel because of her calming presence.
4. Pearfleur
The aesthetic of this channel is beyond. I was blown away watching her for the first time. Inspirational and on the verge of ASMR. Such high quality video and editing. Her videos range from beautiful artwork and bookbinding to art/stationary hauls and making a chess set out of tiles and clay (!). It’s amazing!
5. SarahBurnsStudio
Based in Scotland resulting in amazing landscape paintings using different mediums, from oils to gouache and watercolor. She often paints outside and share her experience in very informative plein air vlogs. I just love it. The scenery is always stunning. I believe she works as a full time artist, creating content on youtube, selling art and making classes on SkillShare. She also has two cats, which means she must be amazing (shout out to all animal lovers out there).
6. Robin Sealark
Robin lives in Utah and is an amazing artist. I have been a subscriber to her channel for a long time and she is so good (and funny). She has a degree in fine art and her skillevel is up there. Being able to make realistic portraits and amazing landscapes she has gradually been making more surrealistic and abstract art (which I love so SO much!). She also shares a lot about herself and her process, struggles and reflections (on art and life).
7. Caro Arevalo
Caro is an amazing artist from Peru, based in New York. Her art is something else, and she seems very interested in the connection of all things, from the tiniest organisms to the vast universe and how we are all connected. She makes amazing art vlogs, and often talks about rituals and ancestral wisdom. I believe she also has made a course on how to use rituals around creativity.
Her art speaks for itself and her personality is coming through in her videos in a wonderful way.
8. Katie Jobling Art
Katie is an artist based in the UK. She worked in an office for many years, but quit her job to pursue her art career. I’m so glad she did, because she was one of the first artist I subscribed to on YouTube and I have learned so much painting from her tutorials (especially the seascape ones). She paints amazing florals, seascapes, landscapes and abstracts. She works mainly in oil paint and acrylic paints. Her work has an impressionistic feel over it. I love it so much and bought my first original from her a couple of weeks ago (picking it up tomorrow and can't wait). She recently had a baby so this one goes to all of you creative parents out there.
9. arleebean
Arleesha is an amazing watercolor artist based in the northeastern United States. Her representation of the human figure and sense of color is amazing. She makes the most wonderful art videos and has a very calming voice. I always feel inspired watching her content. She is a mom of two and works from home. She also has some amazing classes on skillshare (highly recommend!). Just check out the link to her website to get straight to her portfolio. It is a m a z i n g.
10. Shmoxd
Off to something else with a bit more energy. He makes entertaining and creative content. It seems like he just thinks of something he wants to learn, films his process and creates the most amazing artworks. Some examples: a resin skull with pressed flowers, tufting a rug, embroidery, macrame, screen printing and endless other stuff. I can kind of relate to having all of these ideas in my head, always wanting to create something else than what I'm currently creating ( but then I often end up creating nothing except for mess around my apartment). Shmoxd actually proceeds to do something about it. So inspirational. And the editing is always on point.
